Lucas Gervilla

Lucas Gervilla is a visual artist and filmmaker. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Visual Arts at the Institute of Arts at São Paulo State University (UNESP) and conducted research as part of a two-year exchange program (2022–2024) funded by a DAAD scholarship at the Institute of Philosophy of Greifswald University under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Schlitte.

His research focuses on topics such as the aesthetics of abandonment, spatiality, temporality, and memory. His doctoral thesis is titled "Aesthetics of Abandonment: Abandoned Places, Ruins, Memory, and Art."

Additionally, he completed a Master’s degree in Visual Arts and a Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Communication. He has also been an artist-in-residence at ZK/U Berlin, CCI Fabrika Moscow, NES Iceland, and Residencia Epecuén in Argentina.
