Allard Tamminga is Professor of Philosophy with a Focus on Theoretical Philosophy at the Department of Philosophy of the University of Greifswald.

Previously, he was assistant professor at the University of Groningen (2003-2020), postdoctoral researcher at Utrecht University (2014-2019), postdoctoral researcher at the University of Oldenburg (2012-2012), interim and visiting professor at the University of Bayreuth (2011-2013), and assistant professor at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (2001-2003).

He studied Philosophy at the University of Groningen, received a PhD in Philosophy from the Institute for Logic, Language and Computation of the University of Amsterdam (2001), and a habilitation in Philosophy from the Faculty of Philosophy and Educational Research of the Ruhr University Bochum (2016).
